ABOUT
Levi Carbonell-Weiss
Levi’s love of woodworking started over a decade ago when he helped convert an old building into artist spaces. In his early 20’s he traveled across the country meeting many musicians and falling in love with country, bluegrass and folk music. Being from the same music scene in Michigan, Levi heard about Thompson Guitars when Billy Strings ordered his first Dreadnought. Levi wanted to follow his passion for music and craftsmanship and so he began the journey of investigating different luthier schools, which ultimately landed him at Vermont Instruments with instructor George Morris. George studied and worked with Charles Fox just like Preston did back in the 80’s. His passion for bluegrass, along with the skills he has acquired as a budding luthier, found him a spot at Thompson Guitars.
Now Levi has found freedom in being an independent licensed contractor.
